String 3189

Open Gymnasiast opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

Updated strings on PR OpenRCT2/OpenRCT2#10664.

 STR_3189 :Legacy footpaths

In this context, “legacy” means “old-style”, “deprecated”. We introduced a new way of creating footpaths, so we now call the old way “legacy footpaths”.

The pull request in question already removed a few strings. I plan to remove these for all languages myself (although you are allowed to remove them yourself if you’d want to.)

I was wondering how to translate "legacy" in Italian. I thought of leaving "legacy" as is, since it's usally not translated when used as a technical term.

However, I think @rmnvgr's French translation ("classiques") is more clear. Another translation that could work well, at least in Italian, is "tradizionali" (traditional), but for the sake of consistency with French I went with "classici".

Pinging other romance language maintainers, since they could have the same doubt: @J0anJosep @dimateos @renansimoes @Tupaschoal

@LucaRed there is a translation for "Legacy" in Portuguese, "Legado", though I believe it would not be very obvious for people not in the computer science field.

I went with "Obsoleto" (Obsolete)

Good to know! "Obsoleto" could work in Italian too. Maybe I'll update my translation.
