hide individual objects
I would like to hide individual objects, not just all objects of given symbol.
Particular usage case: I receive an ocad file with fieldwork gps tracks of several people on it (marked using a rare symbol). I would like to hide the tracks of the others while keeping my track visible while doing my edits.
I know I can just delete the others, or change symbols, but that feels like unnecessary and may not scale to more complex cases.

Making hidden objects visible again would need some extra user interface...
What you can do now is move the objects to individual map files, and use these files as "templates".
I think in the future you will sove this by hiding "map parts" (#627). And even saving single objects in a format suitable as a template is a known feature request (e.g. #601).
Sure. I did not quite understand what are "map parts". I think the extra user interface need not to be too complex, one just needs either a way to make all hidden objects temporarily visible, or alternatively a list of all hidden objects in a separate window. But there are several workarounds, so it is not urgent.
