add solar zenith angle to top view/Remote sensing
For optical observations like remote sensing and also for observations of chemical compounds that change significantly near the sunset, it would be nice to add information about the solar zenith angle (SZA)
It could be done by adding a "zenith" option in
top view/Remote sensing/show angle (degree)
the SZA would then be calculated using the time, latitude and longitude information similar to the azimuth angle
ok. I did not realise that "elevation" means 90°-SZA, (0°= horizon, 90°=zenit) thus it is in pricliple already available. I don't yet understand the color codes, but in principle I can close this issue.
there could become more colors for more angles added
For DOAS observations near sun rise/sun set, one would like to create flight paths at (more or less) constant solar zenith angle near 90°. Therefore a color scale would be requested in which the segment between 80° and 92° is well distiguishable. Klaus suggest 15 intervals with the edges [80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87.0, 87.5, 88.0, 88.5, 90.0, 90.5, 91.0, 91.5, 92.0] degrees. That would correspond to "elevation" [10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.5, 2, 1.5, 1, 0.5, 0, -0.5, -1, -1.5, -2]
maybe even better would be to make the color bar adjustable with min and max SZA
