Launcher, being a Windows app, searches for Steam within Windows context, that is inside Wine prefix, so to go get it to work you'd have to install Windows verison of Steam in Wine predix

For 10.0.0 however I'm planning to make Linux native version of the launcher with Proton integration

I think it would be easier just to add a steamless option to the launcher. I think it will be less effort for you and most people already use bottles/lutris to run non-steam games so it won't be harder for them.

The thing is, game is made with Steam in mind and won't work without it (or Epic Games)

By “or Epic Games”, do you mean I can use Epic games in place of Steam? I tried running a Windows version of Steam in the wine prefix. It recognized it, but I needed to log in, and Steam wasn’t able to go online to update

You can if you own the game there, otherwise it'll just fail to start

A Python version of TekLauncher that is 100% compatible with all *nix environments (Mac/Linux/BSD/minix/reactos, including ARM-based systems like Android or jailbroken iOS) would be greatly appreciated. Taking advantage of the large number of users looking for alternatives to leave Windows 11 - whether due to privacy concerns or the widely disliked "Recall" feature - and the exponential growth of Proton and devices like the Steam Deck, Legion Go (now with SteamOS support).

Alternatively, a plugin for Decky Loader or Junk Store could solve the issue for all Steam Deck (or SteamOS) users, since they also use Python.

An alpha version with just the download option would already be very welcome by the Linux community.

in order to make it works on linux I managed to use lutris i created a "new game" named "tek lancher" it works on "cachy os proton", and "proton-ge" (both >10) ( don't work on wine vanilla or proton vanilla )

so after launch click in the arrow close to the "wine logo" an select "launch exe inside this prefix", install dotnet 8.0 then enjoy your tek lancher on linux
