Port for RP2040?

Open bubundas17 opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

Will it be possible to port it for RP2040.

RP2040 is arm a Cortex-m0 microcontroller by Raspberry pi. And it i widely available. It would be great to have it ported for this microcontroller.

Hi! Interesting idea. This would be vastly overpowered though (2 cores, doubled frequency, a lot of flash, and can run Doom), and thus unnecessarily expensive. I will get this idea into discussion, but I highly doubt we would take it. Perhaps you would manage to persuade RPi team / community?

Where I live, STM32F103(Costs around 10USD, For a single piece) and STM32F030(Costs around 5.2USD, For a single piece) are a bit hard to find in single quantities. on the other hand, RP2040 is widely available (available even in our local electronics shop), and a single piece costs only around 1.2USD.

  • Prices are mentioned for purchasing a single microcontroller from online stores. excluding shipping.
