SSVEP example was throwing exception on MacOS

I was trying to run the SSVEP example but it wouldn't work until I lowered my display refesh rate to 85hz or lower, any setting above this would not work. I do not know the underlying cause but thought giving a message here could help for people running into this issue as a workaround.
