Update firmware manually

Summary

I have received multiple technical tickets from customers stating that the upgrade does not start.

However, after a period of time, the upgrade proceeded automatically as designed.

As the timeframe is not specified in the documentation, customers expect the upgrade to start immediately, which is not the case.

For "ONTAP 9.10.1 and later", the documentation states "Select the Update Firmware button." However, once the firmware file has been uploaded, the customer does not have the option to run the upgrade using that button.

Could you please clarify this aspect of the documentation to avoid such confusion among customers?

Thank you for your assistance.

@Morganenet thanks for this feedback. Can you reach out to me internally with some more details? I want to know more about the duration between upgrade initiation and it proceeding as designed and if that's a common experience or if other factors are at play. For the second statement, what are you seeing in place of the Upgrade Firmware button after upload? Please also let me know the versions of ONTAP you/customers are experiencing these issues. Better to address details internally than on this public forum. Thanks
