CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor OS: Kubuntu 25.04 (64 Bit) Linux: 6.14.0-24-generic GPU: NVIDIA Corporation NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070/PCIe/SSE2 Driver: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 570.158.01 Resolution: 3840 x 2160
And on Windows 10 with driver 577
I've tried (one after another)
- installing Remix 1.1.0 (I simply copied the content of the release .zip file into the Half-Life 2 RTX/bin directory)
- adding rtx.io.forceCpuDecoding = true to rtx.conf
- updating NVIDIA drivers to 580 (Windows only) ... but I get either the message from the screenshot above or the game do not respond
As mentioned before this is some sort of crash caused by RTX IO when loading assets, though we don't really have any leads on why it's happening. Is there anything else odd about your setup that might deviate from most people's? For instance something like running some sort of overlay over the game (known to cause some issues), or CPU overclocking. Also have you tried validating the game's files in Steam to make sure the assets aren't corrupted?
Can confirm this an issue for me as well. Looks to be an invalid pointer (this is why we code in Rust not C++ guys -_-)

Hey @G0LDENWASTAKEN - would you please open a separate ticket for the issue you're seeing, and include any logs and .DMP files you have from these crashes? We'd like to investigate it separately in case it's got a different root cause. Thanks!
@anon-apple You're right, seems to be an issue while loading assets. I had no free space on my windows system drive and I installed the game on a NAS (SMB share). After moving it localy it works fine on windows.
On Linux it was always on the system drive. It worked in the past (as Portal RTX was released), but now both game don't work.
REMIX-4554 for tracking.
