Issues with CXBX-Reloaded
Describe the bug
- CXBX-Reloaded works surprisingly well with remix. However, one issue seems to be that skinned meshes do not get captured correctly, and therefore do not get rendered. Static meshes, such as the level's maps, do get rendered properly.
- In the screenshot below, there are supposed to be multiple animated character models in this scene, as well as animated liquid below everything. None of these get rendered.
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Set up CXBX-R with BFBB and boot into a level. If you want an actual explanation of this, feel free to ask and i will explain, or DM me on Discord (
@joey4305) - Alternatively, since I'm assuming it will not be easy for you to (legally) acquire the necessary game files to replicate this, I have made an apitrace of a level in the game. Mark said this would make it very easy to replicate. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uPW2E1_p2oYQbXSRD88iuSGpmhDRa3N2/view?usp=sharing
Expected behavior
- Skinned meshes should be rendered

REMIX-2331 for tracking.
@joeyballentine , can you please try setting the value of # alwaysCopyEntireStaticBuffer = False in the bridge.conf to alwaysCopyEntireStaticBuffer = True (with no preceding hashmark)? Sometimes this helps with missing character models.
@nv-ajaus. I just tried that, and it unfortunately did not change anything.
Which version of cxbx are you using the latest one does not respond to alt-x
I also had issue with that. I had to spam it as the game.was starting in order to get the menu to pop up, then I wasn't able to close the menu after that or I wouldn't be able to open it again
