Unable to edit Icon with imagens 256x256 and smaller

When I try to change the image of an icon equal and below 256x256 size the app does not work anymore

Same. Although weirdly, if I start with the largest scaled app icon, and then work my way down to the 16x16 one, it doesn't break when changing the smaller scaled ones... But this seems to only work for the app icons and not any other assets...

App is launched from ~/Downloads folder, Assets.car path is ~/Desktop. It doesn't edit the image but freezes. Only force quit helps.
