[Bug]: Measure tool draws a straight line on the map instead of following great circle route

Describe the bug

When I use the Measure tool over a larger area, I noticed it draws a straight line on the map instead of following the great circle route (but highlighting points along the way does, which leads to a mismatch).

What did you expect?

I expect the Measure tool to follow great circle lines.
