Bug: Media Controls (previous, play, next) don't work when media app starts after Modernflyouts

Open Darkestjuni opened this issue 4 years ago • 7 comments

Describe the bug: The Buttons for the play controls won't work with Spotify. I can use the second set (shuffle, repeat), but the first three controls are greyed out for me.

However, the controls work fine with browser media.

To Reproduce:

  1. Open Spotify
  2. Open Flyout
  3. Try to play or skip a song

Screenshots: Greyed out Controls

OS Version:

  • Windows 10 Version: Win 10 Pro 20H2 (19042.804)

ModernFlyouts Version:

  • Version: v0.9.0

Additional context: It appears consistently to not work, so I hope this is actually a bug and not a feature coming soon or similar.

Did you try restarting apps one by one?

Hi, I just did and it works if Spotify starts before Flyouts. But since Flyouts starts with Windows, I would have to set Spotify to start as well I guess.

That does not sound good to me.

@ADeltaX, could it be that the media sessions aren't updating?

Edited title to be more generic, since the issue is not specific to Spotify.

Same issue for me. However I started Spotify since ModernFlyouts is set to auto-start upon Windows login.

Modern Flyouts ver 0.9.0.0 (installed via Microsoft Store) OS Windows 10 Pro 20H2, build 19042.844 Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

Someone asked, but I can't find the comment: The issue was resolved at some point, currently, it works sometimes. So yes and no?

Sorry, that was me, I deleted the comment as it probably was not an elevated permission issue. It did happened once in my Windows 10. It never happens in my Windows 11 though ...

One time key shortcuts does not work after I run full screen apps (happens both in 10 and 11), then I restarted Human Interface Device Service and it worked, but it is a hit or miss kind of thing. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/playpause-and-stop-media-keys-not-working/d26b166d-87bd-4d9e-9406-45a59ea1c1cc
