After installing and connecting to my remote server with et, et -p 36777 [email protected] keeps prompting: Error starting ET process through ssh, please make sure your ssh works first

How can I fix it?

System version debian 11

Having a perhaps similar problem (at least I get the same error) - mine occurs from one Mac (Mini05) to another (Mini04).
et --macserver Mini04 Error starting ET process through ssh, please make sure your ssh works first At about the same time, on Mini04, I see 3 entries which say: send failed: Invalid argument (not sure that's related) Using ssh to get into Mini04 works w/o any issues. I also have et installed on another Mac, MBAir04 - and et --macserver MBAir04 works fine! Trying to use et from MBAir04 to Mini04 also fails, with the same error message. et from Mini04 to MBAir04 works fine, so some kind of problem w/ etserver on Mini04 only.
