Interoperation with Forge Multipart

Open Steve505 opened this issue 7 years ago • 9 comments

Hey there! I found out that I can't use Forge Multipart to cover OC cables, even if you wrote it HERE. I could use 3D Print to cover it, but these prints have strange shadow when I place them to cover something above them.

Thanks for explaining.

Works just fine on my end. What versions are you running?

Tested on OC 1.7.2.1166, FMP 1.2.0.345, MC 1.7.10

I'm using OC 1.7.2.170 with Forge MP 2.0.0.38 on MC 1.10.2, not working at all...

Forge MultiPart was supported in Minecraft 1.7.10. For Minecraft 1.10+, please use MCMultiPart instead.

adding to 1.7.3 milestone to test/confirm compatibility

tested with chisel and bits and mcmultipart, our oc cables don't fit in 1.12

removing feature additions from 1.7.3 (1.7.3 is more about fixing partial support, not adding entirely new support) and there is no mcmultipart support yet

With v1.7.3 out, is cover support using Forge MultiPart planned in the upcoming version?

this ticket will be reviewed. the scope of the next version isn't yet defined

Two and a bit years later… does it make sense to at least mention in the documentation that Forge Multipart is not supported in the latest version, rather than people spending a bunch of time trying to figure out how to make it work before finding this ticket? As written the documentation suggests that it should just work, there’s no mention of the feature having been removed.
