How does the Digiinfo make the decision to either split into sampling rates or merge based on specific criteria?

I have a touchpad and a stylus pen. When I use two fingers to touch the touchpad, Digiinfo shows two sampling rates. However, when I use only one finger and the stylus pen, Digiinfo only displays a single combined sampling rate.

I would like to know the specific criteria that Digiinfo uses to determine whether to split the sampling rates or merge them.
