Environment variable for App Center App Name

Open ei-electronics opened this issue 5 years ago • 1 comments

There is no environment variable for App name. Each OS allows defining multiple variants for one code base. In app center each variant needs to have a different application name. For automated builds, each change in the code will trigger builds in multiple App Center apps. If one wants to track the build status in the git repository, one has to manually define an environment variable and manually fill that name for each variant. For a react native application with k variants that is 2*k manual defintions for something that app center know but it does not expose.

Does AppCenter ever plan on implementing this? We're running into the same issues, and it seems silly to have to define a variable for something AppCenter already knows
