What fixed it for me was to put the compiled plugin.dll into the Cheat Engine plugins folder and also add FTD3XX.dll, leechcore.dll and vmm.dll to the Cheat Engine's root folder. You can get these DLLs from @ufrisk MemProcFS releases (https://github.com/ufrisk/MemProcFS/releases/tag/v5.14)
