Unable to attach or view photos in Windows app
Photos do not appear to be working in the Windows implementation of the app. To reproduce the issue:
-
Use the QGIS plugin to create a new basic project and synchronise it to the server
-
On your pc/laptop, move a photo to the project directory
-
In QGIS, set the survey layer to 'editable' and add a new point
-
Attach the photo in the project directory using the attachment widget in the survey form
-
Save and sync changes in the plugin
-
Open the windows version of the Mergin Maps app
-
Download the project and open it
-
Click on the point you created, the photo will not be visible, the terminal will show the following error message:
qrc:/com.merginmaps/imports/MMInput/editor/inputexternalresource.qml:120:5: QML QQuickImage*: Cannot open: file://c/Users/raahe/AppData/Roaming/Lutra Consulting/Input/INPUT/projects/mm_windows_photo_test/IMG_20231127_084655.jpg -
In the Windows app, create a new point and attach a photo, the app will give the following error:
"2024-04-05T13:00:51.940Z Select image: Failed to copy image file to C:/Users/raahe/AppData/Roaming/Lutra Consulting/Input/INPUT/projects/mm_windows_photo_test/IMG_20231127_101343.jpg\n" qrc:/com.merginmaps/imports/MMInput/editor/inputexternalresource.qml:120:5: QML QQuickImage*: Cannot open: file://c/Users/raahe/AppData/Roaming/Lutra Consulting/Input/INPUT/projects/mm_windows_photo_test//IMG_20231127_101343.jpg
Is there any update about this or maybe planed in the future. Windows App is quite cool and I also know, that the market is not really interesting but would be cool, to see the photos in mm windows input as well.

Hi @MF-Aichinger yes, this bug is on our task list for photo-related issues. We are continually fixing those one-by-one as we go.
