Problem running the program

Hello, I ran docker-compose up:

target backend: failed to solve: process "/bin/sh -c conda env create -f ./backend/environment.yml" did not complete successfully: exit code: 1

I am on macos, is that the issue? But shouldn't things be happening inside the docker VM? I don't quite get it. I have docker desktop installed.
