Progress of a single job

Parse the workers logs to find a progression pattern and message.
The pattern could be something like :

For a parent job, the progression could be simply the raio of finished children.

I was hoping to use this feature.  I found documentation implying that the 
'globalprogress' pattern can be set in the job attributes.  Is this feature 
working? If so, how do I get the Job's progress indicator to show the progress?
