TTML Max Character Count Length

Can we get a report of line length character count from timed text?

  • SCC
  • SMPTE-TT
  • IMSC

We have a need to know length of character count so that we can meet this restriction:

  • Subtitles must not exceed 42 characters per line with a preferred length of 34, including spaces and punctuation.
  • Closed Captions must not exceed 32 characters per line including spaces and punctuation.
