Is there an API function to "check whether the current session is active"?

When I use the API, the session gets disconnected if the mobile app or website logs in at the same time, or if the login session exceeds the time limit (2 hours). In such cases, is the only solution to log in again?

In all testing I have done so far you can only have one session open at a time. This seems to be a rule from Firstrade.
