Feture request: Make the Steamworks Redistributable packages available to WineTricks.
It would save a lot of download time to copy or link the installers from the Steamworks Common Redistributables package to the appropriate cache directory for Winetricks.
This would be require plenty of work and require keeping Protontricks more in sync with Winetricks. The stance so far has been to make Protontricks only responsible for setting up the proper environment so that Winetricks can start execution, meaning the user has more leeway on which version of Winetricks to use.
There is also the matter of making sure Steam ships the same files as Winetricks expects, which doesn't seem to be the case. For example, Winetricks expects the vcrun2019's vc_redist.x86.exe to have the SHA256 sum 91c21c93a88dd82e8ae429534dacbc7a4885198361eae18d82920c714e328cf9, but the one Steam ships has the sum 5c7dfa4fd52809813cf9350c4e5807434d78a0bb1fd0d61c85e02b41646a5780, which Winetricks would reject.
Winetricks/Wine includes Taskmanager that can search for & run any Windows executable file including installers that you feed it. Just hit the browse button & enter .steam into the search box, hit ok & it'll take you into the main steam folder so you can find the Steamworks folder & all it's goodies.
