ListBox should stay visible even after selection of the proposed item - word!

After confirming a word from ListBox, the ListBox itself disappears immediately. Wouldn't it be better if it'd stay visible, at least for a while, but at most till next keypress? (When selecting a word, the eyes are directed to the ListBox. When confirming a word, if not concentrated 100%, one can never know for sure, what was done untill checking in the editors line, which is not on the same spot as suggested word was. This is about the same annoyance as skipping of the ListBox - up and down.) That way it'd be even posible to choose another word through BackSpace, if the one already chosen happened to be wrong!
