mailtrain Not-operational, abandoned

I gave mailtrain a legit try, in my case with the dockerhub image in my kubernetes cluster, and I couldn't get it to send a single E-Mail successfully. The logs showed no reason or error. Couple that with the whole ldapjs package being abandoned due to a hateful E-Mail from a bully, and this project being effectively abandoned, and I'm going to switch to a different mailing list tool. Bummer really, mailtrain looks like a good bit of work that, for reasons I can't see, is being lost to the sands of time.

I'm posting this not so you can "have my gold" so to say, but so others can see that as of this writing mailtrain isn't worth your time.

I'm probably going to take a stab at listmonk next.

I'll just mention this here that the v1.11.0 version works and I've been using it for many years with node.js and SES. You'd have to get the code from that tag though. I haven't made the upgrades to the latest though so cannot speak to anything past that version.

Thanks for sharing but yeah really don't want to become reliant on software that isn't getting updated.

we use v2 since a very long time on dedicated vm's, it does work quite well actually. I do not use docker

Running current version, seems ok. Just migrated from v1, used it for 5 or 6 years without single issue.
