Zero BYO Domain?

Hi! I appreciate your efforts on this project!

I have a domain (number of domains, actually) and want to send/receive email with them, but don't want to spend like $10/month to google to do that. I'd love to use your app and manage the sends through something else, either locally or if delivery sucks, use something hosted like Amazon SES or resend.

I was wondering if there's a good way to set this up. Happy to run things locally and host it myself. Or, if this would need to be implemented, could you point me in the direction so I could maybe contribute it?

I recently made a PR to allow sending using email aliases set in Gmail.

To configure, you need to setup email aliases under "Accounts & Import" in Gmail settings. For incoming messages, you need to route your emails to personal Gmail inbox using Cloudflare.

When this PR is merged, you can use the aliases configured in Gmail to send emails through your domain.

Let me know if a tutorial is necessary, might do it.

Nice @atharvadeosthale ! I am not looking to use the email aliases in gmail. I want to not host on google/gmail/gsuite at all. I will reference your PR though if I decide to try to implement this. Thanks!

Hi @ferrants , this feature will be added as part of our business suite, you would be able to self-host/subscribe to Zero and connect your custom domains. there's no due date for it yet as the infrastructure is work in progress.
