the line beginning with a hash # breaks verbatim (Escaping Backticks)

I found that if I use Escaping Backticks to quote a paragraph of code which includes some lines begin with # the lines begin with # will break the verbatim itself, making that line a title line.

This behavior is different from GitHub.
