[Feature request]: Property view for editing Binary Data for instanced BioStage objects

Open linkenski opened this issue 3 months ago • 0 comments

Describe the solution you'd like

In ME3/LE3 BioWare have made edits to BioStage objects once they're instanced, so they can be archetyped and customized per individual conversation they're used in, setting DOF and camera offsets. In LEX you have to edit this using the Binary Interpreter tab, and copy-paste HEX values.

I would like to see it shown in properties if that is possible.

Here are two examples, one showing the non-instanced, Archetype view, and one showing the instanced view.

Alternatively, someone could make an Experiment which browses the "m_aCameraList" array property of the archetype of the BioStage Instance you've marked, and then let you select the item in the array you'd like to make edits to in the instance. Then, it just copy-pastes the appropriate HEX for that into the instance binary, and you get to make edits to that, without having to fuss over finding the right chunk of hex to copy yourself.

Because what LEX especially needs is even more experiments!

Can you build the toolset from source?

No

Additional context

I used to be able to build the tools from source but I no longer can. I'm on VS2022 and I have all the requirements listed in the guide, but I get a build error about part of the project missing, related to Wwise.
