Contact form: communication from visitor to creator

Open RunkelRitter opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

Dear all,

as a fresh lychee user I'm missing (or overlooking) a functionality: if a visitor of a public gallery wants to contact me/the creator and ask questions about a specific picture, how would he do so? He seems to be able to share the image link in social media and via mail, to talk about the image with his friends, but he seems not able to communicate with the creator first.

If there is no native way yet, could I just modify the "share/mail"-functionality to create an e-mail not only containing the link but also the e-mail of the creator in the address field? Any idea which file to adapt?

Happy to hear your thoughts, opinions, workarounds, help. Thx, Robin

If adding PHP laravel code for commenting to the page hosting each picture isn't an option then try 3rd party JavaScript services like disqus or an open-source commenting system for GitHub users called giscus where no data gets stored on your website. Facebook's Comments Plugin was super famous once a upon a time.

If only a contact form is required and not an entire commenting system, then the best bet is to integrate something as simple as web3forms.com - real simple.

amitmerchant has his blog using Laravel and utterances - example - https://www.amitmerchant.com/probability-based-randomness-using-lottery-class-in-laravel-9x/ - something like this would really help as an addon for Lychee

Would love to help with implementing some contact form (subpage?) for lychee :)
