Describe the Bug

Sunshine was working flawlessly, and even starting on Windows startup. I noticed it wasn't running, so I tried to restart it;. When opening the Sunshine .exe a CMD window pop-up with the logs, and then closes.

I had to reopen Sunshine a few times and catch a screenshot, before the window would close, to find this error:

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'boost: :wrapexcept<boost: : system: : system_error>

Expected Behavior

Obviously I'd expect Sunshine to work.

But I'd like to see some better error handling and/or a place to check logs.

Additional Context

Please test the pre-release

I don't think it is an issue with the release. As I stated, Sunshine was working on my computer, same hardware.

try running as administrator

Just ran into this after upgrading to the latest nightly. Running as administrator fixes it.

I encountered the same issue. I copied the Sunshine installation directory several times to use with Parsec-VDD for streaming. However, after each reboot, the first time I start one of the Sunshine instances, it reports the same error and exits, instead of on the second launch. After it exits with the error, if I start another copied Sunshine instance, it starts normally without any error. I’m curious about what causes this error, and why the number of instance which reports error is also uncertain. It’s quite unpredictable.

Any way, when I run these instances as administrator, I don’t encounter any errors.

I have the same problem. The sunshine service is installed and set to start automatically. When checking the task manager I can see the sunshine process there but the client tray is missing. Attempting to access the sunshine webgui does not work untill I kill the sunshine process and re-run the sunshine app. At this point the tray app appears and everything starts to work normally.
