I have the same issue as you. I guess this is a bug in the sunshine-beta version. The official version of Sunshine might not have this problem, but currently, the official version can't be installed on macOS 15. So, we’ll just have to wait.

same as you.

I don't think there were any changes to Sunshine to cause this, but instead to macOS itself.

I'm running into the same issue you described. A temporary solution I've found is to press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+C. This shows the local cursor, so you can still use it even when the remote cursor isn't displayed.

Great, this is indeed a temporary solution

You can install the beta version with brew install sunshine-beta. (see https://github.com/LizardByte/Sunshine/issues/3180)

To add, the issue can be trigged whenever typing in a textbox( url bar of browser, notepad, even commenting this), and reappears when quickly move mouse around Dock

It doesn't work. I directly cloned the latest source code and compiled it.

i have this issue too.

  1. When typing (eg. typing in terminal), the mouse cursor will dissapear and will only reappear by clicking on desktop. Ctrl shift c is a work around but not ideal

bobbybean avatar Apr 03 '25 11:04 bobbybean

My work around is to just win+tab to switch window twice and the mouse will reappear

I'm facing the same problem, running sunshine-beta on a mac mini M1 and connecting with moonlight-qt.

Does anybody know what could be causing this?

marnas avatar Jun 21 '25 22:06 marnas

Just commenting to say I have the same issue running latest sunshine version on M1 and connecting with moonlight on Bazzite. Also tried both encoding/decoding methods.

Has anyone tried on the macOS 26 beta?

ev1502 avatar Aug 19 '25 00:08 ev1502

I am on Macos 26 Tahoe with sunshine-beta and connectiong from Linux through Moonlight Flatpak and I also keep having my mosue cursor dissapear. It comes back if I bring the mouse to where the dock is, and when it hovers over an app it reappears.

If I enable Optomize Mouse For Remote Desktop Instead Of Games in the config options, the mouse cursor stays visible.
