"Adjusted" Sum of Best, Possible Time Save
Allow the user to input a "buffer" time range that would exclude best splits from the Best Splits summation. This would help from having an inaccurate Sum of Bests due to inaccurate splitting or tiny variations in the game that are uncontrollable. For example, if I had 20 splits, each with less than, say, 0.5 seconds to "save", this would come out to 10 seconds of time save that doesn't really exist. Hopefully I explained this well.

What is he looking for exactly? Being able to say what the best possible time is allowed to be?
Every single split you hit manually, you either split it too early or too late due to human error. Since sum of best accumulates all the best segments, it also probably accumulates this error. Splitting too early is probably more often than splitting too late for a best segment, so your Sum of Best is too good due to this error. I think it's less than a second for let's say 20 splits, but it's still there.
