Alien Isolation game title missing from list unless colon ( : ) is added to the name

If I have not previously opened an existing split that references Alien: Isolation typing the name "Alien isolation" into search field without the colon the drop down list shows only a few games narrowly (see screenshot)

If I type "Alien: Isolation" with the colon added then the drop down list and the remove it. It will then let me see all games alphabetically starting with "alien" correctly:

This activity seems to happen only if I 'cold start' without a split already open and type in the game name. If there is a split it shows up correctly no matter if the colon is present or not.
