Marketplace flooded with the copy of the same extension

I was browsing the official VScode marketplace and I noticed that there are a few dozen copies of the same original extension. I already reached out to the devs of VScode to warn them regarding taking down these possibly illegitimate extensions. I was wondering whether there is any legal problem or it's perfectly fine to copy and paste the official release into a 1-1 exact clone of the official extension sponsored on the github page.

This extension is dead. The copies are fixing the authentification issues.
