BG3 Game Version

Patch 5

Bug Summary

Mods that are not real appear in the list. They appear to be part of Patch 5 files. Touching them in any way breaks the game. image

Someone mentioned this in a Discussion thread and apparently found a solution.

does not change the fact that they're game files and should not be shown in the mod manager, this is not a solution

i did a fresh install of everything for patch 5; the game, BG3MM, and all mods. after the game was updated i opened it and MM before downloading and importing any mods. these two files were automatically showing in MM on the inactive side. judging by their names and file location, they certainly have to do with patch 5 updates for the golden dice and honour mode; both files sit in the folder with the original dice sets from the game. MM won't show their file name, or their path, so i think it's just reading that they exist in the folder, they're like ghost files to MM. they haven't affected my game at all just sitting on the inactive side. but they are clearly game files being shown in MM for some reason. i agree they probably shouldn't show in MM at all. i actually came here looking to see if there was an update to MM to ignore them yet. thought i would add my experience.

Fair point, I should have said workaround rather than solution.

Anyway it looks like this has already been fixed in a couple recent commits, there just hasn't been a new release since. It's apparently controlled by a loose file: <manager install dir>\Resources\IgnoredMods.json so I replaced it with the updated version. But I'm not associated with this project so maybe you shouldn't trust my judgement...

This issue also leads to saves not being able to load due to "missing mods". even when the honor mode "mod" is activated the game still claims that it is missing, and refuses to load the save.

I am also having this issue currently with my Mod manager.
