[Bug]: Mods are not loading correctly in game
Operating System
Windows 11
BG3 Mod Manager Version
1.0.10.0
BG3 Game Version
Full Release Patch 3 Hotfix 9
Bug Summary
All of my mods worked until the most recent update of mod manager. They're showing as active in mod manager and in the correct folder path, but when I go to the game it's saying they are all missing.

Glad it's not just me. Hopefully there is a fix floating around somewhere.
When exporting the load order, it changes to modsettings on the playerprofiles but when i launch the game from the mod manager or steam it changes the file, removing every mods in it. I tried changing the file properties to read only, but even though it doesn't remove the mods order the game still doesn't register the mod order correctly

same :(
Edit: I fixed my issue at least, what I did is below, not sure if all steps are needed.
- Bg3 mod manager was originally running as admin (i did this manually to fix something prior I think), I unchecked this from the shortcut in security section
- close out of bg3 launcher and bg3 mod manager fully
- relaunch bg3 mod manager, all my mods weren't in the active section, place back all your mods in the active mods section
- select file --> save order (this is something I never had to do prior). You can check this worked by opening file %localappdata%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\modsettings.lsx. You should see some entries in that file with your mods.
- Launch BG3 and it worked for me.
Same problem here. Updated to BG3MM v1.0.10.0 Imported Order from Save (edit: when BG3MM showed no mods on the left). Save Order to file. Export Order to Game. Check modsettings.lsx mods are all listed. Start BG3, check modsettings.lsx... no mods listed. Even completely restarting my system doesn't help (so closing down bg3 launcher and MG3MM didn't help me).
The same. Nothing helps.
Update: Mods are now working, I can start a new game with my current modlist and load it, but anything prior to the patch it just crashes.
So, I had this issue also for the first time today. I saw this report and tried everything suggested here. When those attempts didn't work I went and checked the readme here on GitHub and it is mentioned that if one or more of your mods are broken broken the game will toss the load order. Well, I only had 3 mods that I updated between yesterdays working and today broken. Turned out the Murica mod for me was my culprit.
Soooo...for everybody out there who may read this. Check out whatever mod has a new update or that you added between when everything worked fine and when it stopped working. My bet is it is a mod issue and not a MM issue. You just think it is the MM because that's what you rely on to write your mod order to the game.
Thanks Ashotep, it turned out to be the Astarion Gura AI voice mod. in terms of how to improve this, it would be good if the mod manager detected this in some way and gave a prompt about how the game reset the load order due to an out of date mod.
I think there may be a problem with how "broken" mods are being identified. I've been slowly rebuilding my load order, saving and exporting after adding each mod individually. Multiple times now I have added a new mod, booted up the game, modsettings.lsx evidently reset, I've removed the "broken" mod I had just added, and mods still won't load until I have removed several more mods (mods which the game had no problem with, minutes before).
tl;dr
add a new mod all mods stop loading remove mod mods still don't load remove more mods, which had just been working mods finally load again
Additionally, I don't believe most of the mods registered as "broken" actually are. Besides having worked for me just recently, all of the mods in question have been updated in the last couple weeks, with no reports of bugs from other users. I've even managed to successfully add them back on a second attempt.
I have the Mod Fixer, Script Extender is updated, I'm definitely saving and exporting the order every time. I've checked reddit, and it seems as though others are perhaps having problems with this, too.
I'm currently experiencing it too. Mods that previously were working fine all of a sudden this is happening
I had a perfectly working ModOrder that I re-did from scratch after reading a few of these comments. Then, the last thing before it broke again was me reinstalling the NativeModLoader (modded bink2w64.dll, bin\NativeMods). As soon as I did that and rebooted the game, it all broke again. It doesn't matter how many times I restore over my modsettings.lsx (at this point I have already removed NativeModLoader too), it always gets rewritten upon game launch to an "empty" file.
After that, closing BG3MM and manually adding and reordering mods back in seem to work. Not sure exactly what broke or what kind of check is going on. It doesn't simply look like a broken mods issues (from my .paks and etc.). Seems like something is "unclean" after NativeModLoader was installed and BG3SE refuses to load the previous modsettings.lsx.
EDIT: But it really looks like this is not caused or related to BG3MM at all.
EDIT2: Apparently the game somehow launched at least 1-2 times with broken mods, but after first installing NativeModLoader, it broke and wouldn't launch anymore with my previous mod list. Removing the Arcane Ranger mod fixed it. Goes to show that it usually is the simplest of causes that breaks things. Thanks for the thread and sorry for my mostly useless comment.
