Feature Request: Disable the SB Radio power-on/power-off tone

Open pfeifferch opened this issue 3 months ago • 5 comments

Not a Big Report, but an FR inquiry.

The sound when switching the Squeezebox Radio on and off is extremely loud; during booting, the radio does not respond to user input and therefore does not respond to volume control.

Is it possible to manipulate or update the device firmware (more precisely, the community firmware) to such an extent that no sound is played when switching on or off - or at a specific volume which is permanently set in the device?

I would have liked to post the question in the LMS Community, however the userregistration unfortunately did not work.

Did you check out Settings/Audio/Sound Effects (or similar)?

Many thanks for your response.

I tested it quickly. Result:

If I turn off !all! sounds, then there is no shutdown sound. The sound when switching on remains active. :‘( As soon as I activate any of the sounds, the sound is also active again when switching off. :(

What firmware version are you on? Did you try the Community Firmware plugin to get a post-Logitech era firmware?

Hello

Yes, it's the community firmware with version 9.0.1-r17050

Did you try Sound Effects - None? And volume to a minimum? I just tested with my son's Radio and it didn't make a blip when booting up.
