Code for Classification real-world experiments? Hyperparameters?

The given code on synthetic data relies on the model to be linear regression as it optimizes on its weights. How to use this framework for classification tasks? Also, there is a mention on how the method is heavily dependent on a lot a sensitive hyperparameters. How to select these hyperparameters is not mentioned.
