Testing LSMetrics on Mac OS
Here are some instructions to test LSMetrics on Mac OS:
-
First, install GRASS GIS. For instructions, please look at the following:
Installing GRASS on Mac OS
Note that you'll probably need to install some frameworks before installing GRASS GIS properly.
Here, how should we suggest users to test if GRASS GIS is working? -
Then, first create or open a GRASS GIS project. More instructions here.
To do so, you may use one of the sample maps available in our repository here. -
Try opening LSMetrics. More instructions in this link.
Here we should pay attention at two features:
- how the GUI look like (so that we can adjust it);
- run some metrics to test if the package is working.
Anything else?
Tatiana Motta-Tavares is currently helping us with that. She is testing LSMetrics on Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11.6) using GRASS 7.2.
Hi everyone! Tatiana here.
Yes, I have a Macbook pro (it's kind old, I have it since 2012) with OS X El Capitan. I first tried to install the GRASS 7.4, and what's happen is the vault from Apple security system don't let it open. But it didn't show any warning or message, just don't open. The computes freezes and I must restart the computer to proceed. Then I tried to turning off all the system security but nothing changes.

When I explore the Activity Monitor to figure out what is happening, I was running out of RAM because of a "CoreServicesUIAgent" application. By google it, it is related to frameworks.

Next step I'm going to try GRASS 7.2 with all the frameworks previously installed. Let's see what happens now.
Hi @TatianaMottaTavares Thanks for that, and we wait for the update regarding GRASS 7.2.
About this problem, I'll forward you message to the GRASS GIS list to see if someone can help us. Best, B
