I would like to reiterate the issue request #115.

I really like the extension but the cursor stopped using the vscode marketplace

Hi, after some research I have to vote down the idea. It doesn't make sense to publish something that does not support all the features. So I have to change the extensions only for this ecosystem. The extensions are not completely independent.

Unlike VS Code Marketplace, Open VSX is an Open Source ecosystem under the Eclipse Foundation! And that is what every extension should support, in fact this is one of the very few I ran into that don't. I thought they are just mirroring the official, not idea how it works. You licensed this MIT but do not want to publish it on an open source ecosystem. Makes no sense. Maybe others are open to help if you just not completely rule out the idea.

publish something that does not support all the features.

What features exactly?

The extensions are not completely independent.

What do you mean? I have not read up on this, but I assume Open VSX is way better than some fucking M$ owned and controlled platform. The reason for it to exist is probably because M$ locks down or controls their marketplace in a way others can not use it.

VSCode is 99% Open Source with 1% M$ garbage on top of it can that spies on you ... pretty much like Chrome operates. I detest these fake open source things.

Lots of people prefer VS Codium, a true Open Source build of VS Code that uses open VSX. Works perfectly fine, the only thing that seems to have issues is Copilot, and if you want to use AI you're better off using a fork that is build for AI anyway.

Then there are the closed source forks of VS like Windsurf ... I do not know of the others, but Windsurf also uses Open VSX by default. You can add it to any VS Code fork for privacy reasons ...
