Videscreen 4/3 to 16/9

Hello, do NES games support the videscreen format in games, i.e. 16/9 so that you can see more of the screen in games? Screenshot_2024-11-30-12-02-43-600_com google android youtube

There is no content outside of the 4:3 area that was displayed on CRT TV’s in the 80’s. To make it 16:9 you either stretch the image or add black bars to fill the extra space to either side.

so it doesn't do anything if you want to play something on a video screen

The only thing that can be done is to fill the excess area with black bars, since NES games weren’t designed with 16:9 aspect ratio displays back in the day.
