Amiga MOD Playback: PAL vs NTSC speed

Does modplug play tunes that were written on a PAL Amiga faster than it should? I don't know if I'm just getting old but I'm sure a lot of mods are playing slightly faster than they used to. Just wondering if they're playing back at 60Hz NTSC rather than 50Hz PAL?

I had a quick look at modplug.h/.cpp but couldn't see anything obvious for configuring either way.
