Proposal for the QuantumControl-jl logo.

@alastair-marshall What do you think?

You can see the current draft of the logo in use at https://github.com/QuantumControl-jl

This is how the logo looks in smallish contexts:

Assuming we're happy with the fundamental design, the two potential areas to fine-tune would be the "wave functions" (spots on the Bloch spheres) and the control fields.

  • Maybe the control fields should be a bit larger (both longer and wider, extending farther towards the center of the spheres) - or maybe even move them farther out of the center. I think I'd be okay with their current shape, but we can play around a bit.
  • I'm wondering if it's better to use a lower contrast for the "wave functions". Use gray instead of blue, with a lot of transparency, so that it ends up more like dark-green on green, dark-red on red, and dark-purple on purple. The wave function on the bottom right might need to have a larger width so that it's more visible. All of them can probably be a bit larger and have even softer boundaries (they seem just slightly too sharp in the smaller versions of the logo)
  • Maybe make the dashed equator lines slightly thicker. They should be clearly visible in the larger versions of the logo but don't have to show up in the smaller versions. Maybe solid thin dark colored lines would work better than dashed/dotted.

Technical detail: we can make revisions by adding more commits to this PR. Once we're happy, we'll "squash" the commits during merging so that only the final files make it into the repository

Sorry for the delayed response, have had all day lab sessions and then filming with QuSCo so I didn't get a chance to reply. I love the logo! I think it looks brilliant, it also looks good at small sizes too

Great! We're still playing around with maybe doing the logo with Manim (reproducing the existing design), so that it's generated from code instead of hand-drawn in Inkscape.
