Hi, could you please advise if emissions from brick kilns in South Asia are already included in your emissions data? Thank you for your assistance.

We don't model emissions down to that detail - but data for brick kilns should be included in the underlying aggregate data - mainly the IEA energy statistics and EDGAR emissions data. If you look at the IEA Energy Statistics documentation it doesn't specifically mention brick kilns but it looks like it might be included in the non-metallic minerals sector, which also includes ceramic, cement, and glass -- based on this from the documentation

"In the 2023 edition, consumption of primary sold biofuels by construction sector was reallocated to non-metallic minerals sector for the whole time series based on the fact that it is used to produce bricks."

The non-metallic minerals flow in IEA data gets mapped to the CEDS sector: 1A2f_Ind-Comb-Non-metalic-minerals
