Feature request: multi color quality of life
It's really handy to have Extract one color to separate out the various colors into multiple steps.
Some quality of life things
- Have a dropdown of the various colors instead of a textbox
- Have a 'Generate an alignment square' to add to the elements, which would add a square of all the colors available that the user can move around. That way aligning all the layers to transfer would be a lot easier.
Both capped to maybe 10-20 colors max to prevent UI shenanigans
I already have the first option planned :) I want a proper color selector, but can't decide between a full blown one like this:
or a simpler one like in Inkscape, like this:
Your second suggestion sounds really interesting, but I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Do you mind expanding on it?
Apparently it's also called "registration marks"
It's basically adding a square in each color on the exact same spot as reference to align the multiple layer, for example:
- I would do a first cutting pass on black vinyl and put it onto transfer paper
- Then I cut the blue vinyl and put it onto the transfer paper, but I need to make sure I align it perfectly, if I have squares (or something else as reference point I can make sure the corners line up perfectly
- Then I do the same with gray, using the squares to line it up perfectly
There are ways to do it without alignment, like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiubsrboUDs but for larger prints i think having reference squares would help.
Basically reference points for each layer (where each layer is a different color).
Cutting each layer to the same size by adding a bounding rectangle would also work but it would waste a lot more material
Oh I see, yeah that sounds really handy, I'll be sure to add that in.
It's the same as this hey: https://heyletsmakestuff.com/layer-adhesive-vinyl-registration-marks/
