Mouse buttons stop working after launching SEdit from a break window

Open hjellinek opened this issue 9 months ago • 4 comments

When I'm in a break window, if I select a function name from the FRAME pane, press middle button and select "DisplayEdit", SEdit launches, but I can't select anything or perform any other mouse operations.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: Define a function that breaks, like this one:

(CL:DEFUN FACT (N) (COND ((ZEROP N) 1)((EQP N 10)(HELP))(T (ITIMES N (FACT (IDIFFERENCE N 1))))))

  1. Form to eval

(FACT 12)

Select the top FACT frame in the stack. Left-click the FACT in the frame panel. Middle-button, select "DisplayEdit"

  1. What happened?

The mouse tracks, but you cannot select anything.

If I type Ctrl-X, I get my mouse back. But that's not an obvious remedy, especially for a new user.

Screenshots If applicable, add screenshots to help explain your problem.

I'm running on macOS.

Odd. I don't see that behavior. I can left click in another exec window and give it the TTY, I can click in a PSW and select things. I can select another thing in the backtrace and middle-button and DisplayEdit it. I didn't have to type ctrl-X, or do anything to SEdit.

To be clear, I can use the mouse normally until I launch SEdit, at which point something (I'd guess SEdit) grabs all the mouse events.

Here's a screen recording of what I did.

I can reproduce the issue on Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon with VNC Medley, including the Ctrl-X fix. I can reproduce it onn Medley Online as well, where nothing is clickable anymore after DisplayEdit: clicking anywhere does nothing.
