Adding extended Hangul letters for IBM Plex KR
It could be argued that IBM Plex KR should incorporate legacy Hangul letters such as ㆁ, ㅸ, etc. These are usually associated with the digitization of texts written in Middle Korean, such as the original Hunminjeongeum (the treatise that introduced and expounded Hangul), as well as historical Korean linguistics. Nevertheless, in modern times, some of these legacy letters still find use for uses other than Standard Korean. Two notable examples include:
-
The Jeju dialect, which uses a dot-like vowel letter (usually known as “arae-a”; also used in Middle Korean) for /ɒ/, a vowel that doesn’t exist in Standard Korean. In Unicode, the two variants of the Jeju arae-a are encoded as
U+119E HANGUL JUNGSEONG ARAEAandU+11A2 HANGUL JUNGSEONG SSANGARAEA(the latter for /jɒ/). -
Occasionally in Cia-Cia (a language of Indonesia), which features ᄙ for word-initial /l/, and ㅸ for /β/ when written in Hangul.

Thank you for your input. It is interesting to know.
Considering that Plex is still lacking support for some current day languages, the priority for these kinds of extensions is very low I'm afraid.
