Interlingua word list is downright obscure

Today's word is esule. I can't find it in my dictionary app and Wiktionary wasn't of help either.

On my guess iterations towards it, I came across edule ("edible") that is also absent from my dictionary but is at least somewhat explainable as derived from Latin edulus with supposed use in Italian and Portuguese.

Also, on my guess iterations towards it, I came across emule which I again cannot find in any dictionary.
