Not sure if it's a bug or a feature

When I pick "Extract Objects", I get this:

which adds some text in the upper left corner, which I don't mind, I just crop it out.

It would be nice to be able to save this "bug" outright without having to crop out the text.

You could "fix" it, I suppose, but, then I'd be minus a "feature".

Choice is yours. I'm ok either way.

Now that I've shown it, I can't repeat it.

Which makes it "fiddly" too.

Could you detail what version of G'MIC you use and on which host software? Using G'MIC-Qt on GIMP, here, it seems this filter works as expected (see video below).

I'm using G'Mic-QT (Standalone) 3.50 on Linux. It doesn't show up in Gimp 3.0.0-RC2.
