Feature: Screenplay format support

Open CloverFeywilde opened this issue 7 years ago • 2 comments

I would love to be able to use this app to work on screenplay formatted documents. But as of now I don't believe there is any way to achieve this.

For reference this is how they look: https://johnmcwriter.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/screenplay1.png

It could definitely increase this app's userbase, as there are a lot of budding playwrights and film writers out there.

Hey @bryanwillis7

Finally getting a chance to circle back on this. I think this can be supported but I have to do some research. I doubt that it will be as full featured as something like Final Draft, but the basic templating for screenplay format should be possible. I'll keep this issue open until I have more info for you.

The new document editor support auto-detecting text and converting that text into something else (you can see this by typing Markdown directly into the editor). So I am thinking one solution here would be to have it convert some text entry into proper formatting.

That would be wonderful. I don't think it needs to be something too complex, but something so the option is available would be wonderful. I haven't tested the new implementation yet, so I'll go ahead and do that!
